In a video recently shared on YouTube by AIT, Elekima asserted that Wike “ditched” former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, who supported him during his political conflict with then-Governor Rotimi Amaechi in 2015. He said the overwhelming support which Mrs Jonathan showed Wike during that period was a major reason why Amaechi and other governors joined forces with the APC in 2015. He said despite Wike’s attitude towards Jonathan and his wife, they didn’t seek revenge against him

In Elekima’s words: “You ditched Mrs Jonathan, she didn’t call for your head; you ditched Jonathan, he paid the sacrifice for you. It was because of Wike APC became strong, because of the trouble between Wike and Amaechi. When the former first lady showed that overwhelming support for Wike, then the five governors joined Amaechi. That is what brought APC.
