Bafana Bafana certainly mean business against Super Eagles next month in a crunch 2026 World Cup qualifier after they listed Burnley striker Lyle Foster on a provisional squad.

It would be recalled that Foster had controversially withdrawn from the 2023 AFCON, citing mental issues, while critics maintained he put club before country.
Bafana Bafana therefore had to settle for Evidence Makgopa for their goals at the AFCON, where they finished third.
AFCON best Goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has also been named by coach Hugo Broos even though there are fitness concerns around him.
The 36-man squad is dominated by players who stretched the Super Eagles to a penalty shootout in the semifinal of the AFCON in February.
A final 23-man squad will be named shortly, SAFA disclosed.
