The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike Student representative council has suspended the students union president Chijioke Emmanuel over alleged misappropriation of the union funds.

This decision was made during the third ordinary sitting of the SRC.

The Students council in a letter dated 6 July, 2024 and copied to the vice chancellor, the dean student affairs, deputy dean student affairs and all the security agencies in the institution accused Emmanuel of forgery and working against the house rule.

The SRC also accused him of illegal sales of the Union Scratch card and illegal withdrawals of the union’s funds.

The Students council however, directed him to handover all union property in his possession to the Vice President within 48 hours and desist from identifying himself as the SUG President or discharging any of the duties that come with the office.
