Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed the District Magistrates to remove illegal encroachment from government lands across the state.

He ordered the process of illegal encroachment removal in Odisha in both urban and rural areas at the earliest.

The Chief Minister said that government lands are mainly used for development and public welfare works. Development is hampered by forced occupation. So these illegal encroachments must be removed immediately.

As per current law, after removing the encroachment, it has been ordered to fence it and put up signboards in such a way that everyone can see it and it can be recognized clearly to be government land.
