D’Banj releases new single to celebrate two decades on stage

Legendary Nigerian musician Oladapo Oyebanji, better known by his stage name D’banj, has announced that he will be releasing a new song tittle “Since 04” to commemorate the beginning of his career two decades ago.

Taking to social media on Wednesday, D’banj reflected on his remarkable journey in the music industry, which has witnessed numerous groundbreaking moments since its inception.

Describing his upcoming single, scheduled for release on May 3, 2024, as one of his personal favorites, D’banj highlighted its significance as it coincides with the year 2004, marking his debut into the music scene.

Acknowledging the pivotal role played by his former Mo’hit crew members, including Don Jazzy, Wande Coal, D Prince, Dr. Sid, and Kayswitch, whom he affectionately referred to as his brothers, D’banj expressed gratitude for their unwavering support and the camaraderie that defined their collective journey.

The announcement also saw the singer extending appreciation to everyone who contributed to his success, while also issuing an apology to anyone he might have inadvertently wronged during the course of his career.

D’banj, during his 20 year career, D’banj has treated fans to some unforgettable singles including ‘Tongolo’ ‘Why Me’, ‘Oliver Twist’, ‘Mr. Endowed’ among many others.

The singer has been a recipient of several notable awards including The MTV EMAs, MAMAs, and the BET for Best African Act in 2011.
