Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo is living his Kasimpasa dreams and is unfazed by the early commencement of their preparation ahead of the 2024–2025 Turkish Super Lig season.

While most of his compatriots plying their trade with European clubs are still holidaying in the country, the 30-year-old and his teammates have been working their socks off in the gym.

He shared pictures of the various sessions at the fitness centre on Monday on his Instagram page, stating, “Preparations started early, but we love it.”

Looking so athletic, the centre-back is probably looking to do better than the last term, when he started 23 of his 24 Super Lig matches, scoring once and providing five assists to help Kasimpasa finish strongly in fifth position with 56 points, missing narrowly on a continental football ticket.

The former Chelsea player is also looking to work his way back to the Super Eagles, having been left out of the team that faced South Africa and Benin Republic in the last round of the CAF World Cup qualifying series.

Omeruo has found a home in Kasimpasa, being in his third stint with the club, first joining them on July 21, 2015, on a season-long loan from Chelsea with an option to purchase the player at the end of the spell. He had an up-and-down season, suffering from a couple injuries, but started whenever he was fit. Although the loan deal had an option to buy, Kasımpaşa decided to pass on the option due to a lack of funds, which led to Omeruo returning to Chelsea for the pre-season.

He returned to the club on August 25, 2017 for a second season-long loan after signing a new three-year deal at Chelsea, and was back there for his third spell on July 27, 2023, when Spanish Segunda Division side Leganes announced the transfer to the club.
