“Petroleum Tanker Drivers Show Support for Tinubu’s Administration, Choose New Leaders”
– The Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) section of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has affirmed their support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration as a way to show their solidarity and dedication to their profession.
Following a conference of the union’s delegates in Abuja, the newly-elected National Chairman, Mr. Lucky Osesua, emphasized the importance of unity among PTD members. He stressed the need to prevent conflicts that could negatively impact their working conditions, which is crucial for ensuring the smooth transportation of petroleum products across the country.
Osesua encouraged members to maintain composure, follow regulations, and carry out their duties responsibly, without being swayed by any form of intimidation.
He also admonished them to avoid enticements such as the ones made by the opposition, who are saying all manner of things, to get their votes, and went even further to say that they, the union, are in the process of trying to dissent from the government working with the opposition to achieve progress and be a cohesive force.
The delegates’ conference was also the occasion for other high-ranking officials’ appointments, like Dayyabu Garga as First Deputy National Chairman, Peter Muodebelu as Second Deputy National Chairman, and Humble Obinna as National Secretary.
The show of support for the Tinubu administration by the PTD, whom operate as the main agent to ensure a smooth operation of the entire supply chain of petroleum products across the country, comes at a critical time.
The appeal made by the leadership for the adherence to a united and loyal stance among members of;he association also serves as a federal principle of the country’s economic development through energy recourse.
