Toke Makinwa opens up on bleaching her skin

Nigerian personality Toke Makinwa has openly shared her struggles with skin bleaching, expressing regret for her actions. In her book “Becoming,” which delves into various aspects of her life, she confessed to lightening her skin due to her ex-husband Maje’s infidelity with someone of lighter complexion.

Seeking to captivate him and prevent him from straying, she opted to modify her skin to resemble the other woman’s.

However, this endeavor failed to yield the desired result, leading to their eventual divorce. During a Twitter question-and-answer session with her fans and followers, Toke was prompted to reflect on what she would do differently if given the chance to go back in time.

She responded by saying;

“Nothing. Regret is so exhausting!!!! Wait, maybe bleaching my skin, it was the dumbest thing ever and I’m just so thankful for good genes and money cos….”
