Bacary Sagna believes Arsenal need to sign players to improve the spine of the team over the next few months of the transfer window.

The Gunners finished last season in second, missing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City on the final day of the campaign. That is despite Arsenal winning their final six matches and finishing on 89 points, but it was not enough to pip Pep Guardiola’s side to their first title in 20 years.

In an attempt to challenge for the title once more, Arteta’s men are set to bolster their squad this summer and there has been alot of players linked with a move to the Emirates over the past few months.

Now – amid all that speculation – Sagna has opened up and claimed that Arsenal need to sign a new defender, midfielder and striker – Speaking to Paddy Power, Sagna said: “Arsenal should sign another centre-back. William Saliba and Gabriel stayed injury-free this season, but they had many games and would want to rest them at some point.

“You need to cover the positions as a team – they should sign one centre-back, one holding midfielder and one striker.

“The centre-back position needs to have some depth. At some point, they will suffer from tiredness, and Arsenal need to be able to bring someone on without changing the shape of the team. They need someone solid that can take responsibility, has experience of this pressure and can keep up with the high level of the team.”

Look, if Arteta believes that he needs to improve the spine of the team – he will – there are alot of players linked with a move to ARSENAL and it will just be interesting to see who actually arrives at the club.
