A group under the auspices of Lucky Son of Grace has donated various food items worth millions of naira to the hundreds of residents of Owo community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The donated food items which included Garri, rice and beans among others were distributed to the elderly and other vulnerable individuals in the community.

Speaking on the gesture on Monday, the Convener of the group, Oluwatobi Aruwajoye, explained that the gesture was aimed at supporting and complementing the efforts of the state government in mitigating the impacts of the ongoing economic challenges on the lives of the people of the state.

According to him, the group recognised the tough times currently faced by the elderly, vulnerable individuals and the downtrodden in society, hence the launch of the initiative with the sole purpose of providing much-needed assistance to the people at the grassroots. He noted that the organisation was community-driven.

Aruwajoye said, “It is our duty as compassionate individuals to support one another in times of need. The current economic hardships have disproportionately affected the most vulnerable members of our society. Through this donation, I hope to bring relief and make a positive impact on their lives.

“We aim to create a lasting impact in the lives of those affected by the economic hardships. It is through such acts of selflessness that we can build a stronger, more inclusive society.

“This is not the first time we are extending our hands of generosity to our people, in the area of education we have made it a priority to support the educational journey of the children through initiatives that provide school uniforms, sandals, books, and school fees. We also launched programs to support our small business owners. ”

He added that the gesture through the ‘Aiyedatiwa-Adelami Cares’ initiative, demonstrated the power of compassion and community spirit and had been offering financial assistance and mentorship to entrepreneurs by empowering them to launch and grow their businesses.

“This creates job opportunities and fosters economic growth, enabling individuals to build better lives for themselves and their families,” Aruwajoye stated.
