With the transfer window in full swing, Celtic have been busy getting players off the books rather than getting new faces on them.

Sead Haksabanovic and Marco Tilio have already left the building and with Adam Idah and Paulo Bernardo returning to their parent clubs and Celtic hero, Joe Hart retiring, Brendan Rodgers sees himself five bodies down this summer.

However, Celtic have been linked with numerous players so it seems like there is a lot of activity happening in the background but, as yet, there has been no announcement and now new faces drafted in.

But all that could be about to change according to former Celtic striker, Simon Donnelly.

‘Fantastic’ Adam Idah will join Celtic

The Adam Idah to Celtic chat has been going on for a while now as progress has reported to have been made to sign him, Donnelly reckons this is a deal Celtic will get done real soon.

“What I will say is that the guy came up here and had a fantastic four or five months and scored some really important goals, none more so than the winner in the Scottish Cup.

“But I thought his all-round play and as [Liam] Scales mentioned, he is a popular guy in the dressing room, that would be a really good signing to start off the transfer window for Celtic.

“When I said the ball is in Norwich’s court, I mean he’s their player and they can see how well he’s done so they will try and squeeze a wee bit more money out of it.

“I think it will go through. I think Celtic want the boy enough and they see the value in getting that deal over the line, so I think that will happen.”

Idah would be a great addition to the Celtic team. His contribution last season helped get a league and Scottish Cup double sewn up in Rodgers’ first season back at Celtic.

The Norwich striker has proven that he has what it takes to play for the club and whilst negotiations continue between Celtic and the Championship club, the fans will be hoping that this is a deal Rodgers completes sooner rather than later.
