President Joe Biden’s campaign announced a new “aggressive travel schedule” for July as he faces growing calls for him to withdraw from the race in the wake of his disastrous debate performance.

Biden has been facing increasing scrutiny since his verbal stumbles during last Thursday’s debate. Recent polling showed 72% of Americans do not believe he has the “mental and cognitive health to be president,” and on Tuesday, Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) became the first sitting Democrat in Congress to publicly call for him to withdraw from the race. The week continued to bring more tough headlines for the president, as rumors continued to swirl about internal discontent among Democrats and anxiety among campaign staff.

Nonetheless, Biden remains adamant that he intends to stay in the race, and is sitting down for an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos for an interview that will air Friday evening.

The campaign released an announcement on Friday touting an “aggressive travel schedule” that will involve Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff visiting every battleground state, reported CNN. The announcement said that Biden “can also be expected to engage in frequent off-the-cuff moments over the course of the month, as he has consistently throughout this campaign.”

Other plans for the month include a $50 million “paid media blitz” of “strategic investments” to “capitalize on pivotal high viewership and political diverse audiences” during highly-watched events and television shows like the Republican National Convention, the 2024 Olympics in Paris, and The Bachelorette season premiere.

CNN White House correspondent Priscilla Alvarez reported that Biden’s upcoming travel included a rally in Madison, Wisconsin and the high-stakes Stephanopoulos interview Friday, a campaign stop in Pennsylvania Sunday, the NATO summit in Washington, D.C. next week, and speeches in Nevada to Black and Latino conferences in mid-July.
