This is the latest power outage in a series of outages this month. On June 14, more than 13,500 households lost power across Utah, stretching from Weber County to Washington County near the Arizona border. That outage was reportedly caused by “issues” with a capacitor at a Rocky Mountain substation at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon.

Rocky Mountain Power also reported over 2,900 lost power in Ogden on Tuesday, June 25 due to an “emergency de-energization.” This outage was followed by more than 3,000 people losing power in Tooele on Thursday, June 27. The Tooele outage has since been mostly restored with a few lingering outages.
