WWE Raw preview (July 8, 2024): Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio are finally together

cagesideseats.com 2024/10/6

Raw airs tonight (July 8) with a live show from Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This is the first episode of Raw during the four week build towards SummerSlam, which takes place on August 3 in Cleveland.

Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio are finally together on Raw

On last week’s episode of Raw, Dominik Mysterio inadvertently helped Liv Morgan retain the Women’s World Championship when he slid a chair into the ring for Zelina Vega to use. Vega used it by smashing Dom, which left her wide open for Liv’s finishing move.

Later in the show, Liv’s interference accidentally cost Dominik a match against his deadbeat dad. Before he lost, though, Dominik found himself in a very compromising position with Liv on the outside of the ring that he wasn’t in a hurry to escape from.

That all leads to tonight’s show, where Dirty Dom and Liv will finally be together in a mixed tag team match against Rey Mysterio and Zelina. Dominik might continue playing hard to get, but with each passing week, Liv moves closer to achieving her goal of infiltrating The Judgment Day and taking Dirty D away from Rhea Ripley. What kind of antics does she have in mind tonight to continue playing her mind games with Dom? Is there any chance that Rhea returns to TV before SummerSlam? You’ll have to tune into Raw to find out.

The rest of the card

The Miz is upset with R-Truth for accidentally booking them in a tag team match a couple weeks ago that cost them the World Tag Team Championship against Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. As a result, it looks The Miz won’t walk into his hometown of Cleveland at SummerSlam as a champion in WWE. The Awesome Truth is teaming up with Braun Strowman in a six-man tag match tonight against Balor, McDonagh, and Carlito. Will a win for the babyfaces help Awesome Truth earn a rematch for the gold?

Jey Uso vs. Chad Gable is booked on tonight’s card. There isn’t much time for these men to dwell on their failure to win the Money in the Bank ladder match, because the Wyatt Sicks is very likely lurking in the shadows and ready to strike. The disturbed group has been stalking Chad Gable in recent weeks, but Chad made a pretty compelling argument last week for why the Wyatts should instead be going after Jey. Which one will the Wyatts target tonight? Both?

Katana Chance, Lyra Valkyria & Kayden Carter had a backstage brawl with Damage CTRL last week, so now they will fight over it in a six-woman tag team match on tonight’s broadcast.

Other stuff to keep an eye on

- Drew McIntyre won the Money in the Bank ladder match but was screwed over on his cash-in attempt by more interference from CM Punk. McIntyre snapped after the show and got himself indefinitely suspended by elbowing General Manager Adam Pearce in his teeth. Can Drew be reinstated in time for a long-awaited fight with Punk at SummerSlam? Will Punk even be medically cleared to compete by then?

- Seth Rollins is also pissed off at Punk. Thanks to Punk’s involvement in his world title match at Money in the Bank, Seth can no longer challenge for the belt as long as Priest is the champion. Is Seth now looking to get it on a potential Punk vs. McIntyre match at SummerSlam?

- Damian Priest is extremely lucky to still be the World Heavyweight Champion thanks to a terrible referee call and then interference from Punk at Money in the Bank. Things don’t get any easier for Priest now that he has to defend the belt against GUNTHER at SummerSlam. Does The Ring General plan to confront Priest tonight to point out that the challenger is actually the favorite to win at SummerSlam?

- Bron Breakker lost clean against Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn at Money in the Bank. Does Bron now go to the back of the line, or can he convince Sami to give him a rematch?

- Xavier Woods used an inside cradle to defeat Karrion Kross last week, but The Final Testament are a bunch of sore losers who injured Kofi Kingston’s arm after the match. Is there any update on how Kofi is doing?

- John Cena’s WWE retirement tour has officially begun. Will any wrestlers on Raw speak up looking to get a piece of John before he calls it quits at the end of 2025?

- Will referee Rod Zapata be disciplined for screwing Seth Rollins out of the world title at Money in the Bank by not counting to three after the Falcon Arrow, even though Damian Priest remained motionless and never kicked out?

- Chad Gable says he’ll have Otis’ back if the Wyatt Sicks decide to attack his number one guy. Chad is totally full of shit, right?

- Where the f*** is Odyssey Jones?

What will you be looking for on Raw?
