Manchester United are so desperate to get rid of one player that they’ve offered him to Arsenal.

The Gunners have been quiet on the market so far, but we’re sure a lot of work is going on behind the scenes, with respect to both incomings and outgoings.

Arsenal definitely need to strengthen their attack in this window and Benjamin Sesko was a key target – but he rejected the Gunners.

Now, there have been rumours that Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar could abandon their pursuit of a new striker and go after a wide player instead.

Manchester United could do them a favour.

Manchester United offer Jadon Sancho to Arsenal in an affordable deal

Jadon Sancho was once viewed as a potential superstar, but his career has just not gone to plan.

The Englishman impressed the world with his performances for Borussia Dortmund during his first spell there. That convinced Manchester United to sign him for an eye-watering £73 million in 2021 (BBC).

In the 2023/24 season, after a game against Arsenal, Erik ten Hag publicly criticised Sancho and the winger hit back at his manager on social media.

The two of them fell out and Sancho was shipped out on loan to Borussia Dortmund in January. To be fair to him, he had a decent spell there, helping them reach the final of the Champions League.

Now, Dortmund have ruled out the possibility of signing him on a permanent deal, and there’s no way back for him at Manchester United either.

The Red Devils are trying to get him out, and TeamTalk reveal that they have ‘invited’ Arsenal and a few other clubs to make a move to sign Sancho this summer.

The report claims that United are ready to accept a package worth £40 million, which is an affordable figure. They are also prepared to loan him out, provided there is an obligation-to-buy clause included in the deal for the summer of 2025.

Apart from Arsenal, Manchester United have also offered Sancho to Chelsea, Manchester City and even Spanish giants Barcelona.

Should Arsenal sign Sancho?

Arsenal are expected to sign a wide player this summer.

The Gunners have Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard on the left, but Bukayo Saka is the only natural right-winger they have available right now.

Yes, Gabriel Jesus can play on the right, but Sancho could well prove to be a decent option for Arsenal this summer if Edu can bring the price down even further.

The Englishman, branded as a player with ‘scary’ skills by Jude Bellingham (Bundesliga’s website), is clearly a talented player and at Arsenal, he won’t be the first choice. So, the pressure will be a lot lesser, and that could bring the best out of him.

If the terms of the deal are right, we think Arsenal should take a punt on Sancho this summer.
