The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lelook Bags Academy, to advance Nigeria’s export capabilities and empower local artisans.

This strategic collaboration aims to harness the growing global demand for traditionally handcrafted bags, catering to an estimated market exceeding 1.3 billion users across African regions.

Mrs. Nonye Ayeni, the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEPC, at the official MoU signing ceremony in Abuja, hailed the partnership as a significant milestone.

She emphasised its role in addressing critical national priorities such as job creation, youth empowerment, and strengthening economic security, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Ayeni expressed confidence in the collaboration’s potential, stating, “Our partnership with Lelook Bags Academy marks the dawn of transformative initiatives for Nigeria. I was truly impressed by the creativity and exceptional product quality observed during my visit to their facility. These locally manufactured bags meet international standards, positioning Nigeria prominently in the global market.”

Mrs. Chinwe Ezenwa, founder and CEO of Lelook Bags Academy, echoed Ayeni’s enthusiasm, foreseeing significant benefits for Nigeria’s manufacturing sector.

Ezenwa highlighted the longstanding 13-year partnership with NEPC and pledged continued cooperation to leverage mutual advantages.

The partnership aims to bolster expertise, inclusivity, innovation, and competitiveness within Nigeria’s manufacturing landscape, promoting gender empowerment and supporting vulnerable groups.

Ezenwa affirmed the Academy’s commitment to enhancing production capabilities and delivering high-quality bags that meet global standards, ensuring Nigeria’s competitiveness in international markets.

The NEPC and Lelook Bags Academy collaboration represents a concerted effort to propel Nigeria as a leading manufacturer of diverse, locally-made bags, primed for global export.
