Queues resurface in parts of Nigeria on petrol scarcity

Petrol queues, crowded bus stops, traffic jams and hikes in transport fares have returned to most states in Nigeria on the back of a fresh wave of petrol scarcity in the country.

BusinessDay reports that on Thursday morning, the retail price of petrol surged to N780 per litre in Akure and surrounding areas.

Also, queues have resurfaced in some parts of Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory.

This sudden spike caused long lines of motorists to stretch around petrol stations, with many waiting for hours only to leave empty-tanked due to the scarcity of fuel.
