Gov. Adeleke appoints Omoyele as Corps Commander for Osun Amotekun.

Governor of Osun State, Asiwaju Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke has appointed retired Police Senior Officer, CSP Dr. Adekunle Omoyele as the new Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps.

CSP Omoyele's appointment comes after the expiration tenure of Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi, the first Corps Commander of the security outfit.

Omoyele was a former Chief Security Officer to the Executive Governor of Osun State, Asiwaju Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, he retired recently after meritorious service to the Nigeria Police for 35 years and was appointed by Governor Ademola Adeleke as the Special Adviser on Internal Security and Local Matters, now the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps.

Amotekun is a security network jointly formed by all South-West governors.

It was set up to complement the efforts of other federal security agencies to tackle crimes in the South West zone.

The appointment according to details made available by Yusuf Idowu, the Public Relations Officer of Osun Amotekun on Thursday, takes immediate effect.
