Education Ministry Constitutes to Reform Examination Process and Data Security in NTA
The High-Level Committee is chaired by Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, former Chairman of ISRO and Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIT Kanpur.

New Delhi: In a bid to ensure transparent, smooth, and fair conduct of examinations through the National Testing Agency (NTA), Ministry of Education has constituted a High-Level Committee of Experts. This committee has been tasked with making comprehensive recommendations on the reform of the examination process, improvement of data security protocols, and the structure and functioning of the NTA.

The High-Level Committee is chaired by Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, former Chairman of ISRO and Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIT Kanpur. The other members of the committee include:

1. Dr. Randeep Guleria, Former Director, AIIMS Delhi.

2. Prof. B. J. Rao,Vice Chancellor, Central University of Hyderabad.

3. Prof. Ramamurthy K , Professor Emeritus, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras.

4. Shri Pankaj Bansal, Co-Founder, People Strong and Board Member, Karmayogi Bharat.

5. Prof. Aditya Mittal, Dean Student Affairs, IIT Delhi.

6. Shri Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, Government of India (Member Secretary).

The committee’s terms of reference include:

1. Reform in Mechanism of Examination Process:

- Analyzing the end-to-end examination process to suggest efficiency improvements and prevent potential breaches.

- Reviewing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols of the NTA, and recommending measures to strengthen these procedures along with monitoring mechanisms for compliance.

2. Improvement in Data Security Protocols:

- Evaluating existing data security processes and protocols of NTA and suggesting improvements.

- Examining security protocols related to paper-setting and other processes for various examinations, and recommending enhancements to ensure robustness.

3. Structure and Functioning of the National Testing Agency:

- Making recommendations on the organizational structure and functioning of NTA to implement the committee’s recommendations on examination reform and data security.

- Assessing the current Grievance Redressal Mechanism of NTA, identifying areas for improvement, and making recommendations to enhance its efficiency.

The committee is expected to submit its report to the Ministry within two months from the date of issuance of the order. It has the authority to co-opt any subject matter expert to assist in its deliberations
