Batman: Full Moon is DC Comics’ latest Black Label miniseries, and artist Stevan Subic (The Riddler: Year One) has really produced some Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark vibes for it.

DC’s news release promises “an ancient and supernatural force” stalking the streets of Gotham, “a werewolf so powerful it’ll defy Batman’s most trusted resources: his brilliant mind and extensive gadgetry.” But the four pages of Subic’s work revealed in it promise sickly colors, a truly monstrous monster, and a shadowy spooky Batman.

Subic is teamed with Rodney Barnes (writer behind the Eisner-nominated urban vampire series Killadelphia) for the 4-issue miniseries, which will be printed with glow-in-the-dark main covers. And if that screams “Halloween” to you, well, Batman: Full Moon #1 will hit shelves just in time for the holiday on Oct. 9. (That’s not a full moon, so you should be safe from werewolves as you venture out to pick up a copy.)
