Rising Nigerian singer, Markiss Lulu, has revealed that superstar artiste, Ayodeji Balogun otherwise called Wizkid, is his mentor and source of inspiration.

He made this known in a recent interview while explaining that he emulated Wizkid and decided to bring his own unique sound to enrich the fast-growing afrobeats genre.

Markiss also opined that music is the medicine of the soul and it is so powerful that it can heal people, even sometimes when conventional drugs fail.

Apart from following in the footsteps of Big Wiz, the ‘Runaway’ singer also noted that his style of music is inspired by years of listening to the unique sounds and storytelling talent of international artistes’.
