Leveraging its latest BiCS FLASHTM technology, Kioxia has achieved remarkable advancements in memory die scaling. One of the key technologies behind this achievement is the groundbreaking CBA (CMOS directly Bonded to Array) technology, which not only enables the creation of higher density devices but also delivers an industry-leading interface speed of 3.6 Gbps. The 2Tb QLC flash memory device sets itself apart with a bit density approximately 2.3 times higher and a write power efficiency around 70 percent higher compared to Kioxia's current fifth-generation QLC device. This latest offering from Kioxia features a 16-die stacked architecture within a single memory package, resulting in an impressive industry-leading capacity of 4TB. Despite its high capacity, the device maintains a compact form factor with a smaller package size of 11.5 x 13.5 mm and a package height of just 1.5 mm, making it ideal for space-constrained applications.

Hideshi Miyajima, the Chief Technology Officer of Kioxia, expressed excitement about the potential impact of the 2Tb QLC flash memory device. He highlighted the product's industry-leading high bit density, high-speed data transfer capabilities, and superior power efficiency, emphasizing the value it will bring to emerging AI applications and large storage solutions that require power and space savings. The 2Tb QLC device is poised to address the evolving needs of the industry and drive innovation in storage technology.

In addition to the groundbreaking 2Tb QLC flash memory device, Kioxia has expanded its portfolio with the introduction of 1Tb QLC flash memory devices. While the 2Tb QLC device focuses on capacity optimization, the 1Tb QLC device is designed for performance optimization. Offering approximately 30 percent faster sequential write performance and a 15 percent improvement in read latency compared to its predecessor, the 1Tb QLC device is tailored for high-performance applications such as client SSDs and mobile devices. This strategic product lineup underscores Kioxia's commitment to meeting diverse market demands and driving technological advancements.
