Federico Chiesa’s switch from Juventus to Roma is becoming a distinct possibility, with the Giallorossi stepping up their pursuit of the star winger. According to TuttoJuve, Daniele De Rossi has established contact with the Italy international to convince him to swap allegiances.

Roma have quickly moved ahead of the queue despite joining the race for Chiesa at the end of last season. Bayern Munich and Liverpool are among the 26-year-old’s long-term admirers. However, the player’s future is seemingly in Serie A, with De Rossi going above and beyond to persuade the ex-Fiorentina to choose Roma as his next destination.

Chiesa experienced two chaotic seasons at Juventus under former manager Massimiliano Allegri. But he’s not even part of Thiago Motta’s plans. After being deemed surplus to requirements, he’s ready to pack his bags and leave Turin after four years. Despite operating on a tight budget, Roma are ready to welcome him to the capital.

De Rossi sees Chiesa as an upgrade on his current attacking options. But the Roma head coach is aware of the competition. Talks between the former midfielder and the Italian winger are ongoing. However, even if De Rossi convinces the Juventus misfit to pledge his future to the Giallorossi, Roma would need to find an agreement with the Allianz Stadium club.

Despite his struggles in Turin and an underwhelming EURO 2024, there’s no doubt Chiesa would be a decent coup for Roma. In addition to Chiesa, they’re considering a swoop for Villarreal’s Alexander Sorloth.
