Genesee County Sheriff Christopher Swanson is asking for the public's help regarding a "very violent homicide" that took place in Fenton Township on Saturday.

Swanson, in a Facebook Live video Sunday afternoon, said the victim was 38-year-old Orhan Hosic, who lived in Fenton Township and was running a business out of the apartment at which he was found near Thompson and Jennings Road.

According to the sheriff's office, police were sent Saturday to investigate a suspicious death on West Thompson Road where Hosic was found. Police said shots were fired in the area in the evening, and around 3:00 p.m. an orange Chevy Camaro was observed that may have been involved in the homicide.

Swanson said in Sunday's video that the homicide "was not random. It was very deliberate."

"This is something we believe that, once we figure out all the pieces, will be explained," Swanson said.

He added that the sheriff's office is working with Hosic's family and will continue investigating the case.

Fenton Township Supervisor Vince Lorraine, who also appeared in Sunday's video, said he'd lived in the area for four decades and never had something like this happened before.

"Residents should be assured that we do live in a safe community," Lorraine said, emphasizing the strong relationship between the township and the sheriff's department.

Anyone in the area who observed a vehicle matching that description, has video surveillance or has any additional information please call 810-257-3422 or 911.
