William Gallas has named one Arsenal star as his ‘signing of the season’ after a sensational year in the Premier League.

The Gunners were productive last summer in upgrading their squad to once again challenge for the title, with Arsenal doing just that this season with the north London side sitting top of the Premier League with three games left.

Whilst Manchester City have a game in hand and are just one point off Arsenal, Mikel Arteta and his side can be proud of what they’ve achieved this season, with the Gunners somehow going one better than what they accomplished last year.

And Gallas thinks one new addition made by Arsenal has been the signing of the season.

Declan Rice named ‘signing of the season’ by former Arsenal captain

As quoted by Chris Wheatley, Gallas has named Declan Rice as the Premier League signing of the season, with the England international joining Arsenal last summer for a club-record £105m and performing like a player worth his value.

Gallas said: “Declan Rice has been the signing of the season. I think he has had an amazing season for Arsenal. It’s been his first season with the club – he has six goals and seven assists.”

With Rice rejecting a move to City to join Arsenal, the England international made the right choice in swapping West Ham for the Gunners, where the midfielder has flourished under Arteta at his new club.

And with Rice enjoying his best season yet in the Premier League in terms of goals and assists, it’s no wonder why fans and pundits think Arsenal landed a bargain in the 25-year-old despite paying over £100m.

Rice is on course to become a legend in north London

Rice’s impact at Arsenal has been nothing short if incredible, with the midfielder falling into the rare category of signing where the money paid has been justified and then some.

The former West Ham captain has adapted to life in north London like a duck to water, and if Arsenal can do the unthinkable and win the Premier League, Rice will be on course to become a legend in north London.

Indeed, the Gunners found themselves a gem in Rice, and performances this season have shown that Arsenal have one of the best midfielders in the world in the England international.
