According to the governor, NYSC has become an enduring vehicle for mobilisation and sensitisation of Nigerian youths on nation-building.

“My administration recognises the critical role of the NYSC scheme in national integration and development efforts.

“That is  why my administration is committed to strengthening the scheme and enhancing its capacity to meet its significant mandate of nurturing our young graduates with the abiding patriotic values of loyalty, dedication and absolute faith in Nigeria,’’ he said.

He urged corps members to participate actively in physical and mental activities that would prepare them to face challenges of nation-building.

`’My administration considers you as critical partners in our transformation efforts through our social contract with the people of Delta State as encapsulated in the MORE Agenda.

“The agenda focuses on institutional and structural reforms as part of an overall programme of sustained economic growth and development,’’ Oborevwori said.

He further said that his administration was committed to  pursuing rebuilding, maintenance, upgrade and expansion of  critical infrastructure.

Earlier, NYSC Coordinator in Delta, Mr Olusegun Alao,  urged corps members to make the orientation course a memorable one.

“It is expected that this three weeks orientation exercise will prepare these young Nigerians for the task of nation-building,’’ he said.

He appealed to the state government to expedite action in fulfilling its promise of  providing a new 150KVA diesel generator for the scheme as well as perimeter fencing of the orientation camp.
