ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A body believed to be a missing Laurens County man has been found, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday that a body found in Butts County is believed to be 82-year-old Garland Sims Warren.

Warren was reported missing on June 10.

A spokesperson for the Laurens County Sheriff Office said their deputies were on the scene where the body was found, along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Butts County Sheriff’s Office and the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office.

The spokesperson didn’t provide further details surrounding the circumstances of the body’s discovery.

“We don’t have any further information at this time,” the spokesperson said. “This is still an active ongoing investigation. I ask that you all please keep the Warren family in your prayers.”

On Thursday, the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office said a dog belonging to Warren had been found.

Two people, Robert Peppers, 62, and Kelly Osborn, 56, were previously taken into custody for questioning in relation to Warren’s disappearance, according to the the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office.
