The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Zamfara State Command has tasked the Amalgamated Traders Association of Zamfara State to exercise sincerity and transparency while conducting their business activities in the state.

The Zamfara State NSCDC Commandant, Sani Mustapha, gave this advice when he hosted members of the association at the State Command headquarters of the NSCDC in Gusau, the state capital.

Commandant Sani Mustapha emphasised that the Enabling Act of the Corps 2003, Part 1, Section 3(g), empowers the Corps to monitor the activities of trade associations in the nation.

“I ask you, the traders, to diligently carry out your businesses with the fear of God,” he advised.

He particularly charged phone dealers and scrap material dealers’ wing of the association to ensure that illicit trade of stolen phones and vandalised properties is prohibited.

He also tasked them to be security conscious and report any suspected merchants or dealers of prohibited goods to law enforcement agencies.

Earlier on, Comrade Muhammed Zubairu, who led the team of traders, extolled the Corps in the fight against crime and social vices in the state.

He said the essence of the visit was to familiarise themselves with the Corps and to seek guidance and advice from the Corps on security-related issues.
