Jake Paul has reportedly chosen an alternative opponent if his controversial fight with Mike Tyson doesn't go ahead.

Boxing legend Tyson was initially due to face Paul in a heavyweight bout on July 20. However, on May 31 it was announced that the fight would be postponed after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare up while aboard a plane.

It was subsequently announced that Tyson will now face Paul on November 15 at the same venue of the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

However, Youtuber-turned-boxer Paul, 27, has drawn up a contingency plan in case Tyson, 58, isn't able to fight.

Tyson's last competitive fight was in June 2005 when he suffered a defeat to Kevin McBride. 

As reported by World Boxing News, Paul has lined up Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. as an alternative opponent.

Chavez Jr., 38, previously held the WBC middleweight title from 2011 to 2012.

He has won 53 of his professional fights, drawing one and losing six. 

Chavez Jr. was previously due to face UFC star Darren Till on the undercard of Paul v Tyson.

However, Chavez Jr. will now take on ex-UFC fighter Uriah Hall.
