Lamine Yamal has smashed another record after his stunning display during Spain's extra-time victory over Germany.

The 16-year-old has played a key role in the tournament so far and showed little sign of slowing down as he faced the host nation in the quarter-finals on Friday.

Despite the calibre of opposition, Yamal seemed more than comfortable as he provided an assist to allow Dani Olmo to give Spain the lead.

That assist was the Barcelona wonderkid's third assist of the Euros so far, breaking a quite astonishing record.

In doing so, Yamal became the first teenager to record three or more assists in a single European Championship or World Cup since 1966.

While he's yet to score a goal at the tournament thus far, it's clear that the 16-year-old is destined for a big career at the very top of the game.

This isn't the first record that Yamal has broken this tournament having become the youngest-ever player to feature at the Euros.

Aged 16 years, 11 months and two days, Yamal made history in Spain's group stage opener against Croatia.

Previous to that, the winger became the youngest player and goalscorer for Spain when he netted on his senior debut against Georgia in September.

This came in a season where he scored seven goals and offered ten assists for Barcelona in his debut campaign.

Yamal's assist against Germany in the Euro 2024 quarter final wasn't enough to stop the clash going the distance with Florian Wirtz levelling the game late in the second half.

As a result, the match went to extra time, but Mikel Merino's last-gasp effort stopped the clash from going to penalties as Spain advanced into the semi-finals.
