‘Brilliant’ Chelsea player prepared to leave and sit on the bench for Champions League club next season
Chelsea are in the middle of what is looking as if it will be a large clear out of first team players this summer.
The Blues have already shipped on the likes of Ian Maatsen and Omari Hutchinson for big money, as they look to put together the best possible start to life for Enzo Maresca in charge.
Both players starred during loan spells away last season, and it seems as if there are a few more who were away from the club temporarily last season who may make permanent moves.
It has been claimed that the Blues are looking for a permanent suitor for Romelu Lukaku in order to finally bring to an end the nightmare move of him back at Stamford Bridge.
Another player they would love to find a new home for is Kepa Arrizabalaga, after he spent last season away at Real Madrid.
He certainly did not end the season as a starter, however reports have stated that this may not be too important in his thinking ahead of next season.
According to Marca, the Spaniard would be open to returning to the Champions League winners despite playing second fiddle to their number one, Thibaut Courtois.
The goalkeeper situation remains uncertain at this stage ahead of next season under Enzo Maresca.
It looks as if at this stage that Robert Sanchez could start the campaign in goal after being forced to watch from the side for the majority of 2024.
This was mostly because of the form of Djordje Petrovic between the sticks, with him arguably being the most surprising performer of the season for Chelsea.
There have also been reports that the Blues are considering a move for a new goalkeeper, with Euro 2024 star Diogo Costa being a long-term transfer target of the club.
