The police on Friday arraigned Mr Sogo Adeyemo, 49,  before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly beating up a man.

Adeyemo, whose address was not provided, was charged with assault, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Insp Femi Omilana, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Wednesday, July 3, at about 12:45 p.m, at Apete Garage, Ibadan.

Omilana said that the defendant beat up one Monje Adeola and inflicted an open injury on his left leg.

He said that the offence contravened Section 355 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Gladys Oladele, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Oladele adjourned the case until July 30 for hearing. (NAN
