Sempra Infraestructura Foundation released its 2023 Results Report where it highlights its efforts to achieve social transformation and shared prosperity by supporting organizations and programs that contribute to community development. Last year, the foundation invested MX$42.8 million (US$2.1 million) to benefit 72 high-impact social projects across 15 states in the country, with an emphasis on sustainable electrification, which accounted for 68% of the total resources.

During 2023, a renewed strategy was implemented to amplify the positive impact of each investment in the community, highlights the report. Sustainable Electrification: Sempra Infrastructura Foundation focuses on sustainable electrification to transform society and aid in the decarbonization of Mexico's economy. This initiative seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lower electricity costs for beneficiary institutions, freeing up funds for social support. Education for the Future: The foundation supports Mexican youth through scholarships, emphasizing energy and environmental studies. In 2023, it awarded 226 scholarships for various programs, including engineering, renewable energy, and sustainable development. The programs also covered international studies, university maintenance, and technical training in solar technology.

Collaborative Spirit: Last year, Sempra Infrastructure Foundation enhanced employee engagement in community causes, involving over 400 employees in maintenance, food aid, charity events, and donations of school supplies and essential items.

Empathy in Emergencies: The foundation partnered with the Mexican Red Cross in 2015, responding to natural disasters by distributing over 2,400 food packages annually and raising triple the funds for Hurricane Otis relief in Guerrero.
