Federation Cup: Rivers Angels pip Naija Ratels 1-0 to emerge women’s champions

Rivers Angels on Saturday afternoon triumphed over Naija Ratels with a 1-0 victory in the President Federation Cup final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. This marks the ninth time the Port Harcourt club has claimed the title.

The decisive goal came from Blessing Okpe, who converted a penalty in first-half stoppage time.

The penalty was awarded after Naija Ratels’ defender, Adebayo Jumai, handled the ball inside the box. Okpe Colly calmly placed the ball beyond goalkeeper Faith Omilani.

Despite their efforts, Naija Ratels couldn’t equalize.

Rivers Angels Goalie,Omilan made several saves to keep the score line respectable for Bankole Olowookere’s side.

The results meant that it’s the ninth time that Rivers United would be winning the female category of the Federation Cup.
