Nonprofits receive $150,000 in grants from Quad Cities Community Foundation

The Quad Cities Community Foundation is giving $150,000 in grants across nine local nonprofits.

The Capacity Building Grants are meant to help the organizations grow their impact sustainably. 

Three of the organizations were awarded the maximum grant of $20,000.

“Nonprofits improve the lives of everyone in our region,” Kaleigh Trammell, grantmaking specialist at the Community Foundation, said in a press release. “As they respond to the needs and growth in our region, they require support to become more effective and up to date. Community Foundation donors have passionately supported these grants, and the region is going to see a big impact as a result.”

The following nonprofits received spring 2024 Nonprofit Capacity Building Grants:

  • ASWAS (A System Within A System) - $18,376 for leadership development and technology to improve mission, strategy, and program delivery.
  • Ballet Quad Cities - $13,312 for a new Marley dance floor in the Alder Theater, improving safety for dancers.
  • Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley - $13,000 for increasing mission capacity and improving data management with a centralized data system.
  • EveryChild - $20,000 for technology upgrades to improve mission and program delivery.
  • Hand in Hand - $17,000 for strategic planning and DEI initiatives.
  • Project NOW Community Action Agency - $20,000 for technology expansion and upgrades to improve program delivery as part of its Expanding NOW campaign.
  • Soles for Children - $15,000 for mission, strategy, and leadership capacity to expand program delivery.
  • Testimonies of Hope - $20,000 for Argrow's House social enterprise expansion and increased service impact.
  • WGVV – Quad Cities Community Broadcasting Group Inc. - $13,312 for technology and software advancement to improve WGVV’s communications, strategy, and program delivery.

Nonprofit Capacity Building Grants are made from the Quad Cities Community Impact Fund, a permanent endowment fund. Donations can be made online, or contact Anne Calder, vice president of development.
