M5 traffic live: All northbound traffic held after early morning 'serious collision'
All traffic is being held on the M5 Northbound carriageway after a serious accident in the early hours of Tuesday morning (June 25).
Motorway cameras show queues of lorries and other traffic building up as emergency service responds to the incident, which closed the M5 at around 2.30am.
Traffic sensors on the motorway have been updated by National Highways to read: "M5 Northbound closed due to accident from J12 A430 (Quedgeley/Hardwicke ) to J11A A417 (Gloucester/ Cirencester )."
National Highways have said that emergency services are working at the scene "with traffic officers en route to install strategic closures". They said: "Due to a serious collision, the #M5 is closed northbound between J12 and J11A near #Gloucester. All emergency services are working at the scene with #TrafficOfficers en route to install strategic closures."

A long stretch of the M5 has been closed while emergency services respond to an accident.
The closure extends from Junction 12 to Junction 11a of the Northbound carriageway. This stretch of the M5 runs parallel to Gloucester.
