Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticized the recent demolition of tourist facilities within the Oniru corridor, including parts of Landmark Resorts, without adequate notice.

Atiku expressed concern over the impact of such actions on foreign direct investments (FDI) in Nigeria.

In a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku highlighted the need for Nigeria to create a conducive environment for investments, especially in the tourism sector.

He emphasized that the demolition of these facilities sends the wrong signal to potential investors and could deter FDI.

Atiku also raised questions about the transparency of the demolition process and called for a thorough investigation into the matter. He stressed the importance of adhering to due process and ensuring that investments are protected in order to attract more foreign investors to Nigeria.

The former Vice President urged the government to prioritize the protection of investments and to create policies that promote economic growth and development in the country.

He emphasized that Nigeria must demonstrate a commitment to the rule of law and respect for property rights to attract the much-needed foreign investment.
