It will be another scorcher in the Lehigh Valley on Saturday as “dangerous hot and humid conditions” persist across the region, according to the National Weather Service.

A heat advisory issued by the weather service is in effect until 8 p.m.

Despite increasing cloud cover throughout the day, dewpoints will remain well into the 70s, according to the weather service forecast discussion. High temperatures will be in the low 90s, but the humidity will send heat index values to around 100.

People are reminded to take precautions to stay safe in the heat. If you must go outdoors, limit strenuous activities to the early morning and evening hours and wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room and check up on relatives and neighbors.
