Bomai Again Embarks On Installation Of Solar-powered Streetlights In Fika, Potiskum LGAs

DAMATURU – As part of efforts to improve security and revive night businesses in rural and urban areas, Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, representing Yobe South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has again initiated a project to install additional solar street lights across communities in Yobe South. The project began in Fika town, Gadaka, and in various communities within Potiskum LGA.

It could be recalled that, in 2022, the senator facilitated the installation of solar street lights in several communities in the zone, including Maluri, Gadana, Gamari, Godowoli, and Zayi within Fika LGA, other areas in the zone including Kukar Awu, Gabarin, Fadawa, Degubi, Old Nangere, Mil Biyar, Marmari, Gubana, Shamka, Abakire, Damagum, Koiyelbula, Ngelzerma, Barebari/Bauya, Bolewa ‘A’, Bolewa ‘B’, Potiskum Main Market, Zadawa among others said Abubakar Mohammed Bukar Tamana, a legislative aide to the Lawmaker in a statement released today in Potiskum town.

According to him “This initiative aims to provide solar street lights to numerous communities in Yobe South to enhance safety and security in public spaces and promote social and economic activities to the communities in the Senatorial District that have not yet benefitted from the project, we felt that they should also enjoy the democracy dividends in subsequent phases.”

Tamana added, “The project will be implemented in phases, and we will ensure that it covers all areas that have not earlier benefited.”

“We are once more proud of all the numerous people-oriented projects the Distinguished Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai has facilitated”.
