Sheffield Wednesday have just completed their sixth signing of the summer transfer window.

Attacker Olaf Kobacki joins on a permanent deal from Polish second tier outfit Arka, with whom he scored 15 league goals for last season.

Kobacki is the sixth name to join Danny Rohl and Sheffield Wednesday this summer, along with Ben Hamer, Max Lowe, Yan Valery, Svante Ingelsson, and Jamal Lowe.

The Owls are turning heads during this summer’s transfer window and they’re showing no signs of slowing down in the transfer market.

Young duo Charlie McNeill and James Beadle are now tipped to join the club, on a permanent and loan deal respectively.

There’s also plenty of other name linked with summer moves to S6 who don’t appear to be as close to joining the club, with one such name being Mika Biereth.

Sheffield Wednesday wanted to sign Biereth in January, but he joined Austrian outfit Sturm Graz on loan instead.

Arsenal eyeing permanent sale of Sheffield Wednesday target Mika Biereth

After joining Sturm Graz on loan, Danish 21-year-old Biereth went on to score five goals in 15 Austrian Bundesliga outings as Graz won the league title.

Since, both Sturm Graz and Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with summer moves for the Arsenal forward.

Reports emerged suggesting that Sturm Graz were plotting another loan deal for the striker, but Graz’s sporting director Andreas Schicker has played down those rumours.

Speaking to Kronen Zeitburg, Schicker said: “Mika is in the last year of his contract, the club wants to sell him.”

Previous reports have suggested that Arsenal could command a fee of up to £6million for Biereth, who is out of contract in 2025.

Price tag aside, Mika Biereth to Sheffield Wednesday is unlikely for one other reason

Sheffield Wednesday spending up to £6million on Biereth, especially when he’s out of contract in a year’s time, feels highly unlikely.

He’s clearly someone who Rohl and head of recruitment Kevin Beadell fancy, but the price tag alone is enough to all but rule Sheffield Wednesday out of a deal for the Arsenal man.

That, and the fact that Sheffield Wednesday have just signed Kobacki and that McNeill is also expected to join; on top of that, Josh Windass has signed a new contract.

All of a sudden, Sheffield Wednesday appear to have a pretty well-stocked attacking department, and how many more names Rohl might look to add in the no.9 position remains to be seen.

Either way, it seems like Biereth remains a very hopeful and unlikely potential transfer for Sheffield Wednesday.

But fans are still being treated to a lot of exciting new signings this summer.
