Group takes learning campaign to Makoko community

A non-governmental organisation, Africa Missions Global (AMG), has commenced learning programmes for children in Makoko community. Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, Eyono Fatayi-William, said the body has touched over 30 million lives across Africa through building schools and investing in education, among others.

He said providing qualitative education and meeting the needs of underserved communities have remained their priority since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He reminded that when children are educated, the community is liberated.

“Hence, we launched a programme called ‘Horison 2033,’ with a view to reaching and imparting about 100 million lives directly and indirectly through education. “

He appealed to philanthropic organisations and parents to support government in its efforts at providing good, qualitative education for all, especially the indigent ones.

President of the youth professional arm of AMG, Tobi Aniyu, said the mission came to Makoko community to support indigent parents in the task of educating their wards.

Aniyu disclosed that the organisation runs summer school programmes every year by offering free lessons to children in different communities across the country, at the end of which quiz competitions are organised and the best students are awarded scholarships.
