Afrobeats star Rema is gearing up to drop a brand new EP titled “HE IS.” Rema has been teasing fans with short video clips of him rapping and dancing to certain unreleased songs. It seems these songs are going to be a part of his upcoming EP.

In addition, the project will also feature collaborations with two other artistes, Shallipopi and Odumodublvck. Also, these two rappers are the first Nigerian artistes Rema will feature on a song since he debuted in 2019.

Rema has been consistently releasing hits in recent years. His song “Calm Down” featuring Selena Gomez, has passed the 1 billion streams milestone, and the original song with only Rema singing is about to match up to the remix with over 500 million streams.

Additionally, Rema’s EP, “HE IS” will have six tracks. They are;
1. “HE IS,”
2. “MARCH AM,”
3. “BENIN BOYS” featuring Shallipopi
4. “HEHEHE”
5. “WAR MACHINE” featuring Odumodublvck
6. “AFRO WAVE”

With the video teasers that Rema has shared on his social media accounts, it is also obvious that he is exploring a new sound in his upcoming EP. He has also switched up his looks, going for a darker aesthetic in the videos and clothing. Also, he is making frequent use of the silhouette of a bat as his signature sign.

Rema has never been one to shy away from making use of symbols in his music videos and covers. This has stirred up controversy over his choice of art and its possible link to the Illuminati. Since his debut, the artiste has made use of symbols like burning skeletons, upside-down artworks, and his signature bats.

In defense of the Illuminati rumours, Rema clarified that he uses the bat emoji as it is significant to the people of Benin. He said, “In Benin City, when you look up to the sky in the evening, all you see is bats flying and that’s why it’s my signature emoji. A constant reminder of where I’m from.”

Born Divine Ikubor, Rema was born and raised in the city of Benin until he moved to Lagos to begin his music career. He has released chart-topping hits like “Charm,” “Soundgasm,” “Bounce,” and “Won Da Mo.”
