According to a report by The Telegraph, Enzo Maresca has chosen Robert Sanchez as Chelsea’s number one goalkeeper for the upcoming season.

Sanchez is expected to not only be a great shot-stopper but also play a significant role in the build-up play, similar to Ederson’s role at Manchester City.

Despite falling down the pecking order last season, Sanchez is set to be the starting goalkeeper under Enzo Maresca.

Robert Sanchez lost his place to Djordje Petrovic in the second half of last season, as his errors cost the team at times.

Sanchez made 21 appearances for the Blues last season, keeping five clean sheets in all competitions.

It’s yet to be seen if Chelsea will sign a new goalkeeper this summer.
