Frederick J. Sprecher, Sr.

Frederick J. Sprecher, Sr., 73, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Lancaster to the late Robert J. and Josephine (Snader) Sprecher and was the husband of Rose Sprecher, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

He was the Earl Township Police Chief for seven years, he worked for the Ephrata Police Department until retirement in 2010. After retirement, he worked part-time security at Lancaster General Hospital. Frederick was a member of Ephrata Elks Lodge #1933, New Holland VFW Post 7362, and was a volunteer for over 20 years at Camp Conquest. He enjoyed fly fishing, Camping, and hunting in Lycoming County.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Frederick Sprecher, Jr., husband of Kelly Sprecher; a daughter, Tracy Jacobs, five grandchildren, Rebecca, wife of Justin Stoltzfoos, Kristin Sprecher, Cole Sprecher, Erin Hohman, Makayla Hohman; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald, husband of Deb Sprecher and William Sprecher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David Sprecher and Ed Sprecher.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
