Ncce Engage Security Services Stakeholders On Constitution Week

As part of its mandate to educate the public on their civic duty and responsibilities, especially at this time of elections, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Agona West Municipality in the Central Region has engaged personnel of the various security services in the municipality to educate them on their responsibilities before, during and after the elections.

According to the Municipal Director of the NCCE Mr. Sakyi Sam, the meeting was deemed necessary because the integrity and professional conduct of the security services would be at stake, especially those who would be deployed to man the elections.

The meeting forms part of the Commission’s Constitutional Week celebration. Again, the Commission also engaged Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Faith Based Organizations (FBOs), educational institutions as well as traditional rulers during the celebration, to ensure peaceful, free, and fair elections in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

According to the Municipal NCCE Director Mr. Sakyi Sam, the mandate of the Commission of educating the public about their civic duty, rights, and responsibilities as citizens has helped shape the country’s democracy since its inception, and this he said should not be taken for granted.
