A Trendy Addition to Atlanta The 50,000-square-foot Stock & Trade Outlet on Collier Road NW is now open every Tuesday through Saturday. This outlet is strategically located in the heart of Atlanta's interior design shopping district, surrounded by Buckhead, West Midtown, AmericasMart, and the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center. Meeting Growing Demand Michael Carey, the founder and president of Encore Brands, the parent company of Stock & Trade, Jes & Gray Living, Atelier Home, Encore Home and Rockford Wholesale, explained that the decision to open an outlet was driven by the company's expansion. Carey stated, "As retail businesses grow, so does its inventory. There has to be a valve to sell excess merchandise and a place to move opportunity buys quickly. Outlet concepts give businesses that opportunity to move through value-priced goods faster. In addition, we are always inspired by new designs and trends, and we look for opportunities to introduce new goods to our customers yet still sell existing inventory." Atlanta: The Perfect Location Atlanta was chosen as the location for the new outlet due to existing designer relationships in the city. Carey mentioned, "We believed our Atlanta design clientele would love the opportunity to service their design client. So far, our design community has shown us support for this type of business." Furthermore, the central location of Atlanta among the other retail spots provides easy access to inventory for the outlet. Carey also highlighted the fantastic architecture of the Atlanta location, stating that it is perfect for a fast-paced business like an outlet. Future Plans and Projects While there are no immediate plans for additional outlets, Carey mentioned that they are open to adapting to the evolving needs of the business. One exciting project on the horizon is the creation of Harlan's Place, a housing development for adults with Down syndrome. Inspired by Carey's son, Harlan, who has Down syndrome, the Harlan's Place Foundation will be located alongside Stock & Trade Design's flagship store in Florida.
