Man, 41, docked for alleged motorcycle theft

41-year-old Abimbolu Amodu, was on Thursday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for alleged motorcycle theft.

Amodu, whose address was not given, was charged with theft and obtaining money under false pretence.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Insp Iyabo Oladoyin told the court that the defendant committed the offences on June 16, at about 9:30 a.m., at Akala express area, Ibadan.

Oladoyin said the defendant stole a Bajaj motorcycle worth N800, 000 belonging to one Abidoye Saheed.

She said that the defendant also stole the sum of N300,000 from one Hammed Salisu.

She added that the offences contravene Sections 390(9) and 419 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Aug. 29 for hearing.
