The woman was called stupid by onlookers

Terrifying moment bear lunges at woman who tries to take selfie with it

Wandering in nature can be a lovely thing, until a bear pops out of nowhere and lunges at tourists who tried to take a selfie with it.

Obviously, it’s simply common logic not to go near wild, carnivorous animals - like a bear or a lion - ones that like to eat humans.

But apparently this lesson needs to be reiterated for some folk. Take a look:

Hopefully, this video serves as the perfect demonstration of what not to do if you are confronted with a bear.

In the clip filmed in Romania, a woman can be seen walking over to the large bear by the side of the road while holding something in her hand.

Tell me she’s not trying to feed the bear

The people recording her from the safety of another car are then heard saying: "I have to film it, look how she is holding her hand, stupid girl."

Things then appear to take a turn for the dangerous when the bear suddenly lunges at the woman, leading her to quickly scarper away back to her car.

Even though the animal stops and allows her to run away, it still gives her an angry look to warn her to try and do that sh*t again.

Those who were recording gasp in shock, saying: "Can you see how stupid she is? Go into the car. All that risk for a picture with a bear?"

The original video was promptly uploaded to TikTok by Alessandro Bacaoanu, who has since deleted the clip.

Even though we don’t know where in Romania the incident was filmed, local authorities have issued repeated warnings for drivers not to treat bears on the roadside as pets.

Costel Alexe, the Minister of the Environment stated at the time: "The bear is a wild animal protected by law, not a pet.

"I say once again to the citizens of this country: a bear which has tasted biscuits, wafers, and feels that he can get his food in this way, will never be able to adapt to the forest again."

That warning should be universal, but it didn’t stop one family from letting a black bear scarf down a peanut butter sarnie at their picnic table.

Kaitlyn Nesbit and her family were pictured sitting at the table with the bear, who was clearly grateful for the company as it carried on eating its snack.

In fact, it must have been so happy to taste the nutty cob as it ate it right out of their hands!

Many would say it makes that person incredibly brave or incredibly stupid. Maybe both. But it’s a once in a lifetime picture opportunity nonetheless.

Thankfully, everyone made it out of the situation unscathed - but it could've turned to a news headline pretty easily.
