Agboola Ajayi To Ondo Electorates, ‘I Will Revive Oluwa Glass, Akumu Farm Settlement, Others, l’m Prepared For Governance’

News Investigators/ The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the November 2024 gubernatorial election, Agboola Ajayi, has vowed to resuscitate all moribund State-owned companies across the three senatorial districts of the State.

Mr. Ajayi declared his total readiness create prosperity in Ondo by revamping the ailing Oil Palm Company (OPC) and Oluwa Glass Factory, which said would be renamed, resuscitate Cocoa Processing firm as well as the government farm settlement in Akunu all located across the senatorial districts in the state.

The PDP candidate made the declaration on Friday, when he featured on Arise TV news program, Friday.

He said expressed his readiness to administer very well the affairs of the state when elected as governor, assuring that he would have attained a self reliant economy three years into his administration.

“I should be able to increase Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to pay salaries after three years like Lagos and Rivers and won’t have to wait for monthly allocation from Abuja,” he said.

He expressed his optimism to win the November election, saying the people of the state have already shown their preference for the PDP candidate given his track records of performance in various past elective offices.

Mr. Ajayi reiterated his earlier position on the botched Local Council Development Area (LCDA), blaming it on the poor leadership style of the incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

“What needed to be done was to show leadership. Call the people that went to court and resolve the grievances amicably. But he dashed out hope,” Mr. Ajayi said.

He added that the spate of defections of people from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to the PDP was indicative of the directionless governance in Ondo state.

According to Mr. Ajayi, the development is unprecedented, adding that by the act, the people have made a statement regarding what they intend to do on the 16th of November.

“It’s unusual for members of the ruling party to continue to decamp to opposition party ahead of a crucial election. But that is the situation in Ondo state today because they have suffered enough in the hands of the incumbent government.

“Our people are hungry and have been pushed to the wall. They have acknowledged that I have the capacity to rescue the state from total collapse. That’s why they are coming and we won’t disappoint them”Ajayi assured.

According to the former deputy governor, his main focus in government will be to eradicate poverty and make Ondo state coastal line especially to become a business hurb by ensuring the provision of infrastructure that will attract investors to the area,

Mr. Ajayi who also mentioned his plan to industrialize the state promised to revive the moribund Oluwa glass industry, hinting however, that it may not return in it’s original name, but preferably, as Sunshine Glass industry.

In the same vein, he registered the plan to build Cocoa processing factories as well as restore life back to Nirowi in Ondo town and as well the Ceramic concern in Ifon.

Mr. Ajayi who also unwrapped his plans to revolutionize the security mechanism of the state, submitted that as governor, every idle hands will be engaged to reduce insecurity.

The unity and love in the Ondo PDP, he noted, “is strong indication of members commitment that the Party is ready to take over power in the state, and I am indeed ready for the task ahead” Mr. Ajayi reassured.
