Eulalyn Wilson "Lynn" Clark obituary, 1926-2024, Laurel, MS

Eulalyn (Lynn) Wilson Clark, 98, of Laurel, Mississippi died Thursday, July 4, 2024, in Laurel. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, at Laurel First Methodist Church, with burial following in Lake Park Hills Cemetery in Laurel. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. with the service to begin at 11:00. Rev. Daniel Hathorne will officiate. Born June 29, 1926, in El Dorado, Arkansas, Lynn attended Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia, and graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. After her graduation she resided in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she met her husband, Bill Clark. They were married 51 years until his death in 2001. They lived the majority of their married life in Laurel where they raised four daughters. Lynn later received a master's degree in English Literature from the University of Southern Mississippi and was retired from the Laurel City School System. She was a long-time member of Laurel First Methodist Church where she chaired the Administrative Board and served on the Altar Guild and other church committees. She was a member of Laurel Garden Club, Little Garden Club, Three Arts Club, and the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art Guild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albertine Miles Wilson and Robert Burney Wilson, her husband, William Stuart Clark, her brother and sister-in-law, Johnette and Walter Joe Wilson and her son-in-law, Scott Philip Allen. She is survived by her four daughters, Allyn Clark Boone (Douglas) of Hattiesburg, Nancy Clark Dougherty (Cary) and Sarah Clark Lloyd (Michael) both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Lisa Clark Allen of Laurel; nine grandchildren, Wilson Boone (Jenny Lind) of Hattiesburg, Dorothy Boone Holland (Travis) of Nashville, Tennessee; Stuart Tyler (Abigail) of Mobile, Alabama, Martha Tyler Guichard (Nick); Mary Michael Lloyd Staples (Bo) and Nancy Lloyd Kilpatrick (David) all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Robert Lloyd (Darian) of Houston, Texas; Sarah Allen of Pompano Beach, Florida and Molly Allen of Brookeville, Maryland. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren: Clark, Elizabeth, and Anderson Boone; Boone and Harry Holland; Charlie, Sam, Rosie, Sunny, Bea and Wood Tyler; Cole Guichard; Mary Bowman, Sarah and Virginia Staples; Robert, Charlotte and Clark Kilpatrick; and Wesley, Reid and Eleanor Lloyd. Memorials may be made to Laurel First Methodist Church, Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, or the Laurel Animal Rescue League. Memory Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
